Scenario‐based spatial modeling of human–elephant conflict across fragmented forest–agriculture landscapes in eastern India

Scenario‐based spatial modeling of human–elephant conflict across fragmented forest–agriculture landscapes in eastern India

Human-elephant conflict in eastern India has increased due to agricultural expansion and habitat fragmentation. A study analyzed 138 verified incidents of conflict from 2013 to 2023 in the Rupnarayan Forest Division, focusing on how land use and human activities affect these conflicts. The research suggests that changes in land configuration and restoration efforts can significantly impact the risk levels of these conflicts.
