Animal Writes started as a citizen letter campaign. On 29 November 2025, people across India walked to their post offices and mailed handwritten letters to the Supreme Court, asking for humane, lawful and scientific treatment of community animals.
Animal Writes 2.0 turns that one day into a permanent public resource: a place to follow the decisions that shape animal lives in India, understand them, and act on them.
What we do
- Library: we track orders and notifications from courts, the Animal Welfare Board of India and governments, and explain them in plain language.
- News: we collect animal-welfare news from across the country and summarise the facts.
- Directory: we list vets and ambulances so that help is easier to find.
- Campaigns and resources: we share templates and tools that let citizens take part in civic action.
