A study conducted at a Delhi hospital blood center from January 2021 to April 2025 examined blood donor deferrals due to antirabies vaccination following animal bites. Out of 68,296 registered donors, 10.4% were deferred, with 7.7% of these deferrals attributed to antirabies vaccination, which increased by 189.5% during the study period. The findings indicate a significant impact on donor retention, as only 1.32% of those deferred returned for future donations.
