A study conducted in and around Valmiki Tiger Reserve in India surveyed 428 households across 92 villages to assess human-wildlife conflict and its effects. It found that 94.85% of respondents faced wildlife-related challenges, with 74.14% reporting livestock losses primarily due to leopards and tigers, and incidents were most frequent in winter. While some strategies to prevent losses were employed, they did not fully mitigate the economic impact of these conflicts on local livelihoods.
