NGOs Call on Vantara to End All Wild Animal Imports Permanently

Twenty-seven global wildlife conservation and animal welfare organizations urged Vantara to permanently end all wild animal imports into its facilities. In an open letter dated , the NGO coalition told Amit Aggarwal, president of regulatory affairs at Vantara, that the zoo needs a clearer, stronger approach to future acquisitions. The appeal followed Vantara announcing a 12-month moratorium on animal imports and withdrawing pending import applications. Daniela Freyer from Pro Wildlife stated that a pause with an expiry date is not enough because Vantara must commit to a permanent end to imports.
