An 86-year-old woman died of rabies in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, after being bitten by her own pet dog. Doctors at Kottayam Medical College Hospital confirmed the infection and attempted treatment after her condition turned serious. Family members stated she did not take the anti-rabies vaccine when the bite occurred three months prior. Medical staff explained that once rabies symptoms appear, death is certain within a few days.
