In North India, from August to November 2024, a study at a tertiary Anti-Rabies Clinic examined documentation gaps in animal bite reexposure cases among 200 patients. It found that 78.7% of patients with prior bite histories lacked documentation, primarily due to lost documents and lack of awareness. Undocumented patients faced significantly higher treatment costs, indicating that gaps in documentation lead to increased financial burdens on healthcare systems.
