In Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, research was conducted to identify reasons for delays in initiating postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) after animal bites from January to September 2023. Of 422 cases surveyed, 157 (37%) experienced delays, often due to closed facilities, work-related issues, and lack of knowledge about treatment. Factors such as rural residency and distance from healthcare centers contributed to a higher incidence of delays.
