A study in the Indo-Bhutan foothill region of Assam, India, examines the causes of human-elephant conflict due to changes in land use and habitat loss. It utilized satellite data and household interviews to assess land cover changes and HEC density across different zones. The findings indicate a decrease in agricultural land and increased human settlements, leading to higher concentrations of conflict incidents, particularly in certain districts.
