A study was conducted at an anti-rabies clinic in North India involving twenty adults who received post-exposure prophylaxis after sustaining category III animal bites. The participants tested negative for rabies viral RNA and showed protective antibody levels, indicating a successful response to treatment. These results suggest that the current one-year blood donor deferral policy following anti-rabies treatment may need to be reconsidered.
