A study was conducted in India from October 2021 to December 2022 to compare the safety and feasibility of single versus cocktail rabies monoclonal antibodies for post-exposure prophylaxis. Both treatments were found to be safe and well-tolerated among 318 patients with rabies exposure, although the single mAb required more vials and a higher volume per patient. The results suggest these alternatives could help address shortages of traditional rabies immunoglobulin in resource-limited areas.
