Wound-Only versus Weight-Based Rabies Immunoglobulin in Post-Exposure Prophylaxis: A Quasi-Randomized Asessor Blind Non-Inferiority Trial.

Wound-Only versus Weight-Based Rabies Immunoglobulin in Post-Exposure Prophylaxis: A Quasi-Randomized Asessor Blind Non-Inferiority Trial.

A study compared the effectiveness of two rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) administration methods in post-exposure prophylaxis for patients with category III rabies exposure in India. It assessed wound-only infiltration versus traditional weight-based dosing after a three-dose rabies vaccination. Both methods resulted in adequate antibody responses, with the wound-only approach reducing the volume of RIG used.
