A study in the Udalguri district of Assam, India, analyzed dog bite incidents among tea estate communities from January 2022 to May 2024. It found an annual incidence of 11.8 dog bites per 1,000 individuals, with children under 15 years making up 35% of the cases. It also revealed that while a majority of victims received some post-exposure prophylaxis, fewer than half completed the full treatment.
