Human-wildlife conflict is a significant issue in Assam, affecting agriculture and livelihoods as wildlife increasingly interacts with human settlements. Crop raiding by elephants and other animals like wild boar and rhesus macaques directly impacts agricultural production and household income, leading to increased labor, reduced farm income, and even abandonment of cultivation. The paper discusses the causes, effects, and solutions to this conflict, advocating for a shift towards sustainable management practices.
