A study conducted in Wayanad, Kerala, analyzed human-elephant conflict patterns from 2018 to 2023, recording 9,989 incidents, mainly crop damage. The research mapped mitigation structures and revealed that the South Wayanad Division had the highest conflict rates. It also highlighted issues such as underreporting of incidents, delays in compensation, and the need for better management strategies to address the ongoing conflict.
