Yes, through the Animal Welfare Board of India, if the organisation is AWBI-recognised. AWBI has a grant scheme for animal shelters caring for old, distressed, homeless, injured and sick animals, paid in two instalments after accounts and inspection.

To a designated shelter. The Supreme Court’s order of 7 Nov 2025 says they must be sterilised and vaccinated, moved to a shelter and not released at the same place. The Court upheld this on 19 May 2026.
